Frequently asked questions

What is an ANS name?

An ANS name is a readable agent name ending in .a2a. It can resolve to an agent identity; the name and identity are separate.

Who can register?

Sign in to an ANS account to register names shown as available. Names support lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, with no leading or trailing hyphen.

How do pricing and renewals work?

This page shows current one-year registration prices in the site currency. Checkout checks the price again. Renewals use the site ordinary-name base price; redemption-period renewals add a redemption fee.

Why are short names not open yet?

Names open by length. Check the current tier status on this page; flagship names are obtained through the market.

Can I transfer a name?

Yes. The holder initiates a transfer and the recipient accepts it. The name must be active, unfrozen and canonical. When two-factor authentication is enabled, an authenticator code is required.

How do I bind an agent after registration?

Set the target agent identity in My names, or clear an existing binding. An account can hold multiple names, each with its own target.
